Job Description - Communications Coordinator


Position Objective:    

St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Blue Springs is seeking a Communication Coordinator who will be responsible for the design, execution, and deployment of parish communications and marketing.  This position will also support the Pastor with basic administration duties.  Part time position requiring flexible schedule averaging about 15 hours a week.

Essential Duties:          

  • Maintain content across digital channels: websites, social media platforms, online giving, event forms,  Constant Contact, email marketing, and prepare weekly parish bulletin.   
  • Photograph events: Masses, celebrations, and maintain a historical record of all historical record of all parish events. 
  • Oversee Live Stream broadcast of weekend Mass.
  • Create graphics, videos, flyers, brochures, etc., for parish events, programs, ministries and campaigns.
  • Attend staff meetings (1-2 per month) as called. Respond to phone calls and emails.
  • Create content and layout for the weekly emailed newsletter (Thursday on Tap).
  • Assist staff and volunteers with print and digital assets as established by approved templates, images, and graphics.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple competing priorities.          
  • Strong writing, editing and production skills.
  • High understanding on social media platforms.

Qualifications:           

  • Experience with photography.
  • Web design experience.                                                                      
  • 1-3 years experience managing social media platforms.
  • Advanced skills in print and digital productions software, especially Adobe products.
  • Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
  • Primarily a work from home position with occasional in office presence.
