Community and Hospital Based CRS - Beaver County, PA

Gateway Rehab has a dynamic position located in Beaver County, PA for a Community and Hospital-based Certified Recovery Specialist. You will provide support and assistance to patients in the Beaver County community, including hospital settings, with identified SUD to gain access to the resources, treatment services, and support that will help them to achieve improved quality of life and sustained recovery. You must have certification through the Pennsylvania Certification Board as a Certified Recovery Specialist.  Must live in the Pittsburgh, PA region, preferrable Beaver County, PA. 

Responsibilities:

• Provides information and opportunities for recovering individuals to direct their own recovery and advocacy processes.
• Provides support to hospital patients with identified SUD.
• Facilitates warm hand-offs and referrals from the hospital to appropriate providers.
• Provides information and opportunities for recovering individuals to direct their own recovery and advocacy processes.
• Provides education and support to hospital staff related to addiction and recovery.
• Organizes data collection relating to community referrals and outcomes. 
• Establishes a relationship with patient that displays dignity and respect as reflected in professional language and appropriate boundaries.
• Teaches and supports the acquisition and utilization of skills needed to facilitate recovery.
• Promotes knowledge of and linkage to available services, options, and choices.
• Promotes the utilization of natural resources within the community, other agencies, and services systems. Arranges referrals to other agencies, community programs, and other resources to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Facilitates the development of a sense of wellness, self-worth, and identification of unique strengths.
• Documents interactions and progress in patient’s electronic medical record; completes all documentation within required time frame.
• Participates in group supervision and individual supervision.
• Participates in Care Coordination department meetings, other department and agency meetings, and internal and/or external trainings to promote performance improvement.
• Attends all Gateway Rehab mandatory training and in-services.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 3 plus years’ experience engaging with individuals within the substance use field
• Must have Certified Recovery Specialist certification through the Pennsylvania Certification Board.
• Experience with data collection capabilities. 
• Understanding of and personal experiences with addiction and recovery required.

Additional Requirements:

• Must complete training in ethics and confidentiality related to consumers of addiction treatment services.
• PA Criminal Background Check
• FBI Clearance 
• Childline Clearance
• TB test

Work Conditions:

• Hospital and community settings with occasional evening and/or weekend hours and some local travel.
• Minimal physical demands
• Mental demands include those associated with working with consumers in treatment and /or early recovery.
