Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in felony and misdemeanor jury trials from arraignment through verdict.
• Draft motions, negotiate settlements, and advocate at hearings and sentencing.
• Develop and implement defense strategies across a variety of criminal charges.
• Communicate with clients empathetically, guiding them through high-stakes situations.
• Collaborate with legal support staff to ensure seamless case management from intake to resolution.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice in Iowa (or eligibility to obtain promptly).
• Minimum 5+ years of criminal defense experience, including jury trials through verdict.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage files and cases independently.
• Skilled oral advocate with polished courtroom presence.
