Job Overview:

Looking for a Data & Cyber Security Associate to help safeguard the systems, data, and digital infrastructure. This role involves implementing security best practices, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and contributing to risk mitigation strategies across our organization and client projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and manage data security and cybersecurity protocols across cloud and on-prem systems
• Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and incident response
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations 
• Configure and monitor firewalls, anti-virus tools, and SIEM systems
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to secure APIs,   applications, and networks
•  Conduct internal audits and support external audits and certifications
•  Educate teams on cyber hygiene, secure access, and data handling   practices

Primary Skills (Must-Have):

• Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, Nessus, Burp Suite, Splunk, or similar
• Understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and endpoint security
• Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST, CIS, or OWASP
• Hands-on with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and IAM configurations

Secondary Skills (Good-to-Have):

• Exposure to ethical hacking, DevSecOps, or secure code reviews

• Certifications like CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP (optional)

• Experience supporting CSR or impact tech projects with a security lens

• Awareness of data governance, privacy laws, or disaster recovery planning

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 1-5 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or IT risk management
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

• A mindset aligned with protecting data to serve societal goals
