Data and Performance Analyst

Hourly Rate: $35-40/Hour

Position Summary

The Data and Performance Analyst is responsible for monitoring the agency’s key performance indicators, validating data accuracy, analyzing trends, and integrating information from multiple sources. This position collaborates with leadership, administrative, clinical, and program teams to translate data into actionable recommendations that support informed decision-making, improve service delivery, address gaps or disparities in care, and advance the agency’s quality improvement goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor agency key performance indicators, performance targets, contractual requirements, and quality-of-care measures.


• Collect, aggregate, organize, and analyze administrative, operational, clinical, financial, and service-delivery data.


• Conduct routine data validation activities to ensure information is accurate, complete, consistent, timely, and reliable.


• Identify data discrepancies and collaborate with appropriate departments to investigate and resolve data-quality concerns.


• Analyze performance trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement.


• Collaborate with the agency’s Leadership Team to interpret reporting metrics and translate findings into measurable, actionable steps.


• Develop dashboards, scorecards, reports, charts, and other data presentations for leadership, committees, departments, and other stakeholders.


• Prepare written summaries of data findings, including significant trends, performance concerns, contributing factors, and recommendations.


• Use data to identify gaps, disparities, or inequities in access to care, service delivery, outcomes, and quality of care.


• Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of performance improvement plans and corrective actions.


• Evaluate the effectiveness of improvement initiatives by monitoring progress and comparing results against established benchmarks and targets.


• Integrate data from electronic health records, surveys, incident reports, utilization reviews, case record reviews, financial systems, and other agency data sources.


• Assist departments with establishing meaningful performance indicators, data-collection processes, and reporting schedules.


• Maintain documentation related to data definitions, calculation methods, reporting requirements, and data-validation procedures.


• Present data findings clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.


• Support regulatory, contractual, accreditation, and internal quality-reporting requirements.


• Protect the confidentiality and security of agency, employee, and client information in accordance with HIPAA, agency policies, and applicable laws and regulations.


• Participate in quality improvement committees, leadership meetings, and other meetings as assigned.


• Complete reports and assigned projects accurately and within established deadlines.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, healthcare administration, public health, business administration, social sciences, quality management, or a related field.


• At least two years of experience in data analysis, quality assurance, performance improvement, healthcare operations, or a related area.


• Experience collecting, validating, analyzing, and reporting data.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other reporting or data-visualization tools.


• Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and communicate findings clearly.


• Strong analytical, organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.


• Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, clinical staff, administrative staff, and other stakeholders.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a behavioral health, human services, healthcare, or nonprofit organization.


• Knowledge of performance measurement, continuous quality improvement, and program evaluation.


• Experience working with electronic health record systems and healthcare-related data.


• Knowledge of or experience using Credible Behavioral Health Software and Greenspace Mental Health.


• Knowledge of CARF accreditation standards and applicable federal, state, contractual, and regulatory requirements.


• Familiarity with health equity, disparities analysis, and outcome measurement.
