Detailer Supervisor

The Detailer Supervisor manages the Custom Exhibit Design and Detailing team, with primary responsibility for reviewing, approving, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of all detail drawings. This role oversees Detailers and Designers providing direction, assigning workloads, managing priorities, and supporting team development.

As the team's technical leader, the Detailer Supervisor resolves complex design and engineer drawings, ensuring they are production-ready and aligned with project requirements. The role primary focus of expertise lies in the ability to check and provide feedback on Detail Drawing while also collaborating closely with Designers, Account Managers, and Production to address technical issues, maintain project schedules, and support successful project execution.

The Detailer Supervisor serves as a mentor and technical resource, promoting best practices, training team members, and driving continuous improvement across the design and detailing process.

Technical Approach

• Produce detail / assembly drawings for modular, woodworking and metal fabrication based on GES detail standards. These modular items include the following: beMatrix (AMP), FIT3, AGAM, and other modular items.


• Possess the ability to detail custom construction components (. i.e., box frame construction units)


• Create 3D/2D drawings for show setup, including elevations, plans, exploded views, space management, carpet, and electrical layouts.


• Maintain and Create modular CAD drafting standards and SOP practices.


• Create Design Line drawings / Control drawings for estimating & proposals.

Fit & Finish

• Specify all finishing materials on drawings.


• Work / Manage multiple projects, often with extremely tight deadlines.


• Perform QA process and checklist to review and approve other Detailers drawings.

Execution

• Ability to self-manage the detailing requirements and engineering exhibit solutions


• Research materials and building methods to reduce cost of construction.


• Follow GES file naming and file management procedures.


• Perform detail drawing and design work as needed to support peak workloads and maintain business continuity during staff absences.

Team Management

• Train new hires, point person for modular construction.


• Attend team leadership meetings to discuss best practices and process improvements.


• Partner with the Account Executive/Project Manager by owning the drawing set to ensure drawings are completed in accordance with the project timeline.


• Management of a smaller team including other Detailers and Designers.

Expertise  

Specific qualifications for our Detailer Supervisor include:

• 5-8+ years of experience in engineering, CAD, exhibition, events or experiential background a plus


• A passion for finding the right balance of materials, space and light to create innovative spaces


• A vast knowledge of materials, finishes, graphic applications and fabrication methods


• Convincing presentation skills and ability to articulate technical details


• A keen sense of project flow, timelines, project challenges and appropriate paths to resolution


• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.


• Familiarity with 3D Studio Max for design color renderings.


• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs


• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite
