Description
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for DFM of all new PCB designs. He or she interfaces as the primary resource with knowledge and PCB design, materials, process and manufacturing capabilities.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary responsibility is the creation of standard\complex and rigid\flex multi-layer stack-ups for all NEW JOBS booked.
- Provide direct support for higher level Pre-Quote and DFM capabilities.
- Review board design and analyze against site DFM capabilities.
- Initiate internal buildability\release meetings with internal site Engineering teams to review critical design process constraints.
- Participate in customer conference calls to negotiate design improvements and solutions for cost effective PCBs.
- Communicate with customers to provide any quote and\or booked order with technical assistance in relation to design, material requirements and impedance issues.
- Implement new materials into the company ERP system. (ALL SITES)
- Provide direct support to all FEE employees in resolving issues.
- Work directly with FEE Director\Manager to identify improvements and implement new processes.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Fundamental knowledge of PCB materials and controlled impedance calculations.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, stack ups and CAM DRCs.
- Effectively communicate with customers to resolve issues.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience with Printed Circuit Board designs.
- Thorough knowledge of Printed Circuit Board designs\manufacturing processes is expected.
- Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish business goals.
- Must have proven successful written, verbal, phone and negotiation skills for communications with customers.
- Ability to interpret industry and customer specifications and blueprints.
- Must have a good understanding of stack-ups and how to process sequential lamination designs.
- Need to comprehend all processes and current technologies including Rigid\Flex, BBV, HDI, sequential lam, cavity designs, embedded resistors and thermal designs.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 + years of experience with PCB CAM and Planning processes and methodologies
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated team leader with good negotiating skills
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the company’s goals, objectives, and vision.
- Familiar with Frontline Genesis, Planning (InPlan, ProCim) and Oracle MRP Software Modules.
EDUCATION:
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
