Job Description - Director of Client Strategy Alternative Data

We’re hiring a Director of Client Strategy to manage and grow relationships with leading hedge funds and asset managers using our alternative data. Our clients rely on us for accurate, fast, and unique insights into 67 publicly traded companies. You’ll work closely with PMs, analysts, and data teams to ensure they get full value from our product, expand usage, and remain long-term partners.

Your success will be measured by:

✅ Renewals – Keeping clients engaged and driving strong retention
✅ Upsells – Growing accounts by expanding ticker coverage
Trial Conversions – Helping prospects see the value and convert quickly

  • Own Key Accounts – Build relationships with PMs, analysts, and data buyers. Understand their strategies and how our insights support their investment process.
  • Be a Product Expert – Learn the structure and methodology behind our reports. Speak confidently to both quant and fundamental users about how to apply them.
  • Drive Engagement – Keep clients up to date on new tickers, performance highlights, and ways to expand usage across teams.
  • Support During Trials – Help prospects trial our product effectively. Provide context, setup support, and examples so they can assess value quickly and easily.
  • Share Feedback Internally – Surface client input on API access, delivery cadence, tooling, and backfill requests.
  • Stay Connected – Keep regular contact via email, calls, and industry events. Join roadshows or visit clients when useful.

  • 2+ years working with alternative data clients (account management, client success, sales engineering, or onboarding)
  • Solid understanding of how hedge funds evaluate and use alternative data
  • Comfortable owning revenue targets and driving account growth
  • Background in finance, business, or a data-focused field (undergrad or master’s preferred)
  • Strong communicator – able to adapt for quant or discretionary clients
  • Analytical mindset – confident working with data and explaining insights
  • Commercially aware – always thinking about retention and expansion
  • Comfortable working remotely and across time zones
