Job Description - Remote Director of Operational Finance

Director of Operational Finance
Our client is a portfolio company that specializes in the acquisition of hyper-niche software companies that fit narrow but mission-critical use cases for business customers. The company is experiencing rapid growth through acquisitions and organic growth and is looking for a motivated, energized, and high achieving individual to support the growth of this global company.
As the VP of Financial Operations, you will serve as the thought partner to key operational CEOs, playing a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of each portfolio company. Your accountability extends to crafting and executing comprehensive bottom-up financial plans in close partnership with respective leaders. The ultimate goal is to guide the company toward sustained profitability and generate long-term value creation from the portfolio companies.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for creating the detailed financial forecast for each portfolio company, from bookings to free cash flow
Partnering with the operational CEO's to create and report on the key KPI's needed to manage the business on a weekly basis
Guide resource management across the portfolio of companies to ensure financial targets are being met
Owning cross-functional projects that drive improved financial performance across the portfolio of companies
Design and implement a finance organization that will scale as additional portfolio companies are added
Qualifications
BSc/BA in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field; MBA, CFA, or other relevant qualification is a plus.
Proven experience as a director of finance or similar role.
Proven ability to perform and be adaptable in a fast-changing/startup environment.
Experience in establishing planning processes from the ground up incorporating detailed KPI's and financial outputs (sales bookings through free cash flow) and driving accountability w/leaders on a regular cadence
Proven ability to drive accountability with leaders on a regular cadence.
Demonstrated high sense of ownership, with the ability to drive change in the business and lead cross-functional programs when required.
Strong communication skills, adept at synthesizing financial targets into simple and clear operational objectives for business leaders to execute against.
Ability to create and manage complex financial models in Excel, leveraging other business intelligence tools as needed.
