Director - Operational Optimization

Position Summary

This position is responsible for developing and leading enterprise network optimization strategy across the company through the following:

o Identify opportunities to leverage manufacturing / warehousing capabilities and capacities

o Optimize network locations for equipment, manufacturing sites, and warehousing

o Develop business cases for executive level decision making

· Network optimization strategy & opportunity identification/ development

o Identify and prioritize opportunities to optimize

§ To support cost reductions, asset utilization and maximize internal value to ProAmpac’s internal & external customers

o Maintain pipeline of network optimization opportunities across all business groups

· Capacity

o Develop process to maintain visibility to manufacturing capacity, utilization and constraints across enterprise

o Partner with ops & planning teams to align forecasts with available capacity and balance production loads

o Help provide input towards strategic capacity expansions, capex, new capabilities

· Portfolio review

o Lead recurring portfolio reviews on network optimization opportunities, capacity utilization, etc.

o Develop scorecards to track pipeline, project statuses, savings realized, etc

· Cross-functional project leadership

o Work with supply chain, manufacturing, and leadership to align on network opportunities and execution with overarching organizational goals.

· Modeling & Strategy: Identify and utilize simulation software to run scenario planning ("what-if" models) for network changes

· All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or Finance; MBA a plus.

· Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in manufacturing industry.

· Strong Financial and Manufacturing background

· In-depth knowledge of end to end Supply Chain and P&L statements

· Solid analytical skills and ability to translate data into fact-based decision making to support strategic planning and program implementation.

· Effective in data gathering, able to work in an unstructured environment, strong communication skills and able to build partnerships internally and externally.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to set clear priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution; able to effectively maintain relationships via flexibility, collaboration and negotiation.

· Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues across departments, geographic locations, and time zones.

· Demonstrated success in bringing about changes in an organization, consensus building, and influencing all levels of an organization.

· Excellent English language fluency is a must, additional language capabilities are a strong plus.

· Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.

This role operates in a professional office environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

Expected typical travel by car, plane with some overnight stays estimated at up to 25% in a typical month.
