Job Overview Summary
The Director, Training is responsible for planning, managing, executing, and evaluating all aspects of Advarra’s product-focused training events and resources. The Director, Training supervises the training team who develop and deliver training to both external customers and internal staff.â¯
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead Technology Solutions overall training strategyâ¯â¯
- Oversee the planning, design, and delivery of effective and timely training to customersâ¯
- Supervise a global team of training specialists and the eLearning developers; provide coaching, help team members prioritize projects, identify opportunities for development, and deliver performance reviewsâ¯
- Observe and evaluate trainers to ensure the correct content is delivered; provide coaching and feedback to help trainers develop their skills and gain confidenceâ¯â¯
- Develop, lead, and prioritize new training initiatives based on the company’s goalsâ¯â¯
- Manage major project timelines to ensure deadlines are metâ¯â¯
- Oversee Training department budget, monthly forecasting, and ensure revenue projections are metâ¯
- Seek to improve training processes and resourcesâ¯â¯
- Ensure that staff receive training on Advarra products that they support, test, or developâ¯â¯
- Work with PMO and Product Support Managers to determine appropriate staffing for implementation-related training eventsâ¯â¯
- Analyze ongoing and new training needs of internal staff and customersâ¯
- Create or customize training programs to meet the needs of Technology Solutions customers and staffâ¯â¯
- Drives the development and launch of new training services to optimize the customer training experienceâ¯
- Survey customers about their Advarra training experience; improve and adjust training based on feedback and evaluationsâ¯â¯
- Collaborate with other teams to design and deliver new training programs to address any knowledge or skill gapsâ¯
- If onsite training is required evaluate facilities for training events; provide recommendations for new training rooms and spaces to ensure the best experience for customersâ¯â¯
- Recommend best practice and consistent approach for virtual training to ensure the best experience for customersâ¯
- Prepare and present content at Onsemble conferences to support the company’s goals and our customers’ needsâ¯â¯
- Evaluate new L&D tools or products to improve the efficiency of the team and the customer experienceâ¯
- Work with the training managers to identify opportunities to deliver effective training on-demand; Prioritize projects and set timelines for e-learning specialistsâ¯
- Ensure training materials are appropriately branded and adhere to the Advarra and marketing guidelinesâ¯
- Work with the Documentation and Marketing teams to ensure training services are being actively promoted through marketing campaigns and through leadership activitiesâ¯
- Provide ongoing feedback to the Product Management team; Help prioritize development based on user experience and feedbackâ¯â¯
- Stay up-to-date on adult learning trends, research, and innovationsâ¯â¯
- Perform other job-related duties as assignedâ¯

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent demonstrated experience in corporate training/adult education
- 7+ years of experience providing instructor-led trainingâ¯
- Software training experienceâ¯â¯
- Software troubleshooting experienceâ¯â¯
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating e-learning or other training media
- Effective communication skills (writing, speaking, and listening)â¯â¯
- Experience developing curriculum and training materialsâ¯â¯
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills; comfortable speaking to groups of 10-200 peopleâ¯â¯
- Strong time management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple prioritiesâ¯â¯
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skillsâ¯â¯
- Supervisory/management skillsâ¯â¯
- Ability to strategically prioritize projectsâ¯â¯
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)â¯
Physical and Mental Requirements

The base salary range for this role is $122,443 - $250,134. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
