Electrical Foreman - 100% Travel - AUT - RS

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for the electrical installation, layout and reporting repair, and service of heavy electrical and conveyance systems at commercial project sites such as warehouses, distribution centers, or e-fulfillment centers. They specialize in controls such as building automation, lighting, motor, temperature controls, possesses strong knowledge and application of the electrical code, restrictions, and requirements in using tools and materials of the trade, with strong experience with 480 and 120 voltages.

This position plays a critical role in leading, executing and successfully completing a scope of work for a project on time and within budget. They are responsible for supervision and training of a group of employees or agency temporary workers to complete tasks within their area of skill and expertise. While this role does not administer discipline or make decisions regarding compensation, their input on the performance and challenges of the team to PM is necessary. As such, this position should understand all current challenges, progress of the project, and communicate frequently and appropriately with management. This role should hold a level of expertise sufficient to problem solve and drive process improvement. The Forman holds dual responsibilities/expectations of leading a team and working with/performing specific tasks/functioning like that of the team members.

Responsibilities:

• Leading, executing, and completing a scope of work for a project, understanding the materials and tools to use with little to no oversight or direction. planning conduit and branch circuit/power distribution systems
• Highly competent in planning, reporting progress, leading a team and installing conduit raceways/branch circuits/power distribution systems on commercial projects.
• Installing control wiring, running conduit, and servicing and repairing other electrical equipment and fixtures, ensuring that electrical work complies with relevant codes.
• Reviewing blueprints and schematics to determine workflow and functionality of various electrical and conveyance systems, and utilize information and data to execute the work, troubleshoot, and solution for electrical problems.
• Preparing sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
• Assembling, installing, or testing, of electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
• Installing electrical systems that are properly supported utilizing raceways and conductors that comply with ratings and specs outlined in the NEC.
• Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Advising project management whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Testing electrical systems (continuity, voltage, amperage, resistance) of circuits equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as a multimeter to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Planning layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Installing ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as drives and motors.
• Repairing or replacing wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
• Using a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Organization and assignment of tasks to meet project targets or deadlines.
• Provides safety leadership, responsible for identifying risk, and ensures that all workers are trained on health & safety including any required certifications such as powered lift equipment, working at heights, etc.
• Careful tracking of people and resources such as materials, equipment, and tools.
• People management & coaching.
• Training and monitoring worker performance.
• Forecasting production and resources needed.
• Communication with management - updates on team and individual performance.
• Communicating any employee issues to management, and/or project challenges.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and following up on direction from management.
• Ability to organize resources & tasks and manage a schedule.

• 3+ years of Commercial/Industrial Electrical Experience.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician's licensed as an electrician, required.
• OSHA 10, 30, construction/mfg. safety experience.
• LOTO Experience
• Field experience coordinating with construction management.
• Exceptional initiative, execution, and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to carry up to 45 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• NFPA 70E
• Ability to manage 5-10 employees and perform electrical job tasks alongside the team.
• High School Diploma/GED
