ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Email and Communications Specialist is a creative, self-driven professional responsible for executing email campaigns and supporting organic social media efforts to increase engagement and brand awareness. This role focuses on creating, scheduling, and optimizing communications across platforms while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with marketing goals. The specialist also supports social media publishing, community engagement, and livestream initiatives to deliver a cohesive communications strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute email campaigns, including newsletters, promotional emails, and automated workflows 
• Coordinate with internal teams to design, edit, and distribute communications aligned with marketing objectives 
• Support event-related communications for both promotions and attendee engagement 
• Contribute to strategies that grow and engage email subscriber lists 
• Maintain responsive, accessibility-compliant email templates optimized for all devices 
• Create visual assets for email campaigns and related communications 
• Manage email lists, audience segmentation, and ongoing data hygiene efforts 
• Execute campaigns through marketing automation and email platforms 
• Monitor and report on email performance metrics, including open and click-through rates 
• Support sender reputation and list health to improve deliverability and engagement 
• Draft, schedule, and publish content across organic social media channels 
• Write engaging, on-brand social copy tailored to each platform 
• Support social community management, including responding to comments and messages 
• Assist with livestream production, guest coordination, and post-event content editing 
• Analyze campaign performance and use insights to improve future communications 
• Stay current on trends in email marketing, social media, and emerging technologies, including AI

• Excellent written communication and copywriting skills with the ability to craft engaging and effective email and social media content. 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.  
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, ensuring accuracy and consistency across communications. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
• Proficiency in email marketing platforms (experience with ActiveCampaign is a plus). 
• Proficiency in social media platforms (with a priority on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram). 
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc., for designing email and social media assets. 
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
