MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified Paramedic in good standing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Current Pennsylvania EMS Instructor certification
- Certified CPR Instructor or within 6 months of hire (AHA or equivalent)
- Current NAEMT Instructor certification or within 6 months of hire (PHTLS, EVOC, EMS Safety, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, from an accredited institution in public safety, emergency management, health sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in EMS education or field practice
- Proficiency with instructional technology, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and LMS platforms
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout NPRC’s 10-county service region
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and instructional communication skills
- Dedication to supporting diverse student populations in hands-on learning environments
- Ability to collaborate with instructional and administrative teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of experience teaching Advanced Level EMS Programs. (AEMT, Paramedic)
- Knowledge of program accreditation with CAAHEP and CoAEMSP
- Experience delivering instruction in competency-based education (CBE) environments
- Familiarity with rural EMS systems and workforce development strategies
- Experience developing or managing clinical rotations or partnerships
POSITION SUMMARY:
Northern Pennsylvania Regional College (NPRC) seeks a qualified and motivated Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor to lead the delivery of EMS training across NPRC’s 10-county region. This position will deliver instruction in multiple EMS certification levels, coordinate clinical and lab experiences, and support curriculum development. The instructor will teach live online lectures, facilitate in-person labs, and collaborate with part-time instructors, clinical partners, and internal departments to ensure student success and regulatory compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Deliver live EMS lectures via Microsoft Teams and ensure recorded availability for asynchronous review
- Facilitate hands-on laboratory instruction in regional classroom sites across the NPRC service area
- Assess student performance through written exams, scenario evaluations, and practical skills check-offs
- Ensure compliance with PA Department of Health Bureau of EMS regulations and national education standards
- Develop, maintain, and revise curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials
- Coordinate clinical placements and serve as a liaison with field and clinical training partners
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, evaluations, and attendance documentation
- Support the delivery of continuing education, NAEMT courses, and CPR instruction as needed
- Participate in department meetings, faculty development, and institutional assessment initiatives
- Travel regularly throughout NPRC’s 10-county footprint for instruction and partnership development
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance.
- Consistent access to a vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:
- Office Location: Remote
- Work hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Friday
- Full-time employees are expected to work a minimum of 37 hours per week
- Work hours may be adjusted to accommodate course scheduling and may include evenings and weekends
- Notwithstanding the office hours, full-time salaried employees are expected to work 40 hours weekly
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent travel throughout the counties served by NPRC is required
