About the Opportunity
Start Date: September 2nd, 2025
Length of Fellowship: 13 months
Are you passionate about tackling climate challenges and driving sustainability solutions? As an Energy Advisor Volunteer Coordinator in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful climate resiliency & sustainability initiatives with Energy Smart Eastside.
This is a hybrid position with the expectation of onsite work 2 days & remote work 3 days per week. The fellow will attend one to three evening or weekend events per month. Any work conducted by the Fellow outside of regular business hours will be offset by equivalent time off during standard business hours. This position requires the employee to be physically located within commuting distance of the site location at the time of hire. Only candidates currently residing within commuting distance of the site address will be considered.
Use your passion for climate work and energy efficiency to train a group of community volunteers who will inspire the electrification of Eastside homes. The Energy Advisor Volunteer Coordinator will expand the outreach and education aspect of the Energy Smart Eastside mission by scaling a new volunteer-led energy advisor program. The primary focus is on helping residents navigate the purchase of a heat pump, but energy advisors may also provide information on other efficiency measures such as weatherization, heat pump water heaters, and induction stoves. This program provides trusted information to homeowners that helps them understand the confusing terms that contractors may use when discussing heat pump options, the pros and cons of different system designs, and helps them maximize rebates and incentives to get the most value. By engaging and training diverse volunteers in our community, the Fellow will help Energy Smart Eastside engage a broad audience. This role will report to the Energy Smart Eastside Program Manager and will support the workstreams of the Energy Smart Eastside Outreach Program Coordinator.
This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your professional skills, grow your network, and contribute to Energy Smart Eastside’s sustainability goals.
