Job Description - Field Service Manager

Symmetrio is seeking a Field Service Manager based in the greater Chicago, IL area on behalf of a long-standing organization known for delivering advanced diagnostic imaging solutions—including CT, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound. This company provides sales, refurbishment, and end-to-end service for high-end imaging systems across multiple manufacturers. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee a team of field engineers responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of imaging equipment. You’ll play a key part in shaping the customer experience, upholding technical standards, and driving day-to-day service performance.

This is a full-time, onsite role with approximately 20% travel. It offers a competitive salary in the $120,000–$140,000 range, depending on experience, along with full benefits. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of field service engineers in CT, MRI, X‑ray, and ultrasound service.
  • Oversee installation, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and calibration of medical imaging systems.
  • Maintain high service-quality and compliance with OEM standards, safety, and DICOM/networking protocols.
  • Directly assist with complex technical work when needed—hands-on support is essential.
  • Implement performance metrics, manage schedules, and track KPIs using service management tools.
  • Interface with hospital and clinical customers—resolve escalations, optimize site operations, and build trust-based relationships.
  • Ensure proper inventory, tool, and vehicle management across your region.
  • Coordinate training initiatives for team members and clinical staff as needed.
  • Partner with regional leadership on capacity planning and territory coverage decisions.
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (Electrical, Biomedical, Mechanical) or equivalent technical training (military engineering, technical certifications).
  • 7+ years of experience with field service in medical imaging—ideally including managerial or lead technician responsibilities.
  • Strong technical know-how in electronics, electromechanical systems, software, networking, and magnet safety.
  • Proven leadership skills: ability to coach, manage priorities, and drive team performance.
  • Exceptionally customer-focused with clear communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Comfortable with travel throughout Illinois and flexible scheduling—on-call and occasional weekend work included.
  • Familiarity with DICOM, imaging software, RF shielding, and compliance/regulatory documentation.
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
