Job Description - Field Services Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION


Location: Remote with easy access throughout New Mexico



BASIC FUNCTION:


 


To assist county Farm Bureaus in agricultural engagement and promotion.  To direct and coordinate organization development, provide training, guide county leaders, and assist them in planning, creating, and implementing programs and activities. The regional manager will work with counties to promote membership growth, advocate for agriculture, and implement the policies of the New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau (NMF&LB).  Assist in planning, organizing, and carrying out responsibilities and priorities set by leadership. 


 


RESPONSIBILITIES:


 



  1. Initiate and advise strategies that support and build strong and effective county farm bureaus.

  2. Build strong relationships with county Farm Bureau boards and serve as a liaison between the county Farm Bureaus and the New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau.

  3. Serve as a resource to assist county Farm Bureaus in developing and implementing initiatives that have high impact and demonstrate value to membership.

  4. Grow membership and retention in each assigned county Farm Bureau.

  5. Market member benefits.

  6. Promote county participation and involvement in advocacy, programs, and activities.

  7. Assist county Farm Bureaus in the development and implementation of timely, effective marketing and communication strategies.

  8. Train county board member leadership and encourage participation in state and national leadership development programs.

  9. Engage young farmers, ranchers, and other ag professionals to participate in Farm Bureau activities at the local, state, and national level.

  10. Maintain close relationships with Farm Bureau Financial Services agents to build awareness of Farm Bureau benefits and programs.

  11. Understand and know Farm Bureau policies.

  12. Assist in the activities of the New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau.

  13. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other industry groups

  14. Attend meetings and provide quality reports.

  15. Advise counties on policy development.

  16. Work with assigned State Issue Advisory Committee(s).

  17. Coordinate one of the leadership programs within New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau.

  18. Perform additional duties as may be assigned or necessary.


 


QUALIFICATIONS:


 



  1. Demonstrate leadership abilities to promote NMF&LB while working to strengthen and serve NM agriculture.

  2. Must possess a bachelor’s degree (agricultural degree preferred but not exclusive).

  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  4. High achiever with demonstrated ability to work independently, as a self-starter, with the ability to set priorities and exercise initiative while meeting deadlines.

  5. Time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.

  6. Establish, cultivate, and maintain effective working relationships with members, legislators, FB staff, and the agricultural community.

  7. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable (clean) driving record.

  8. Working and proficient knowledge of computer applications, especially Microsoft Office Suite.

  9. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing programs.

  10. Knowledge of the legislative process is a plus.

  11. Work experience in agriculture or related field a plus.

  12. Knowledge of state and national agricultural issues.


 


REQUIREMENTS:


 



  1. Must be willing to work odd hours with a hybrid schedule (weekend, evenings, and some late-night travel required. Travel to state office when needed.).

  2. The position requires extensive travel within the state.

  3. Contribute to a strong team environment.

  4. Repeated use of computers, cellphones, and other office machines. Extended periods of sitting and concentrating.

  5. Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, and moving items weighing up to 25 lbs. in an office or field environment.


 


SALARY:


 


$40,000+  Based on experience and job qualifications
