This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Part-time Controller - REMOTE. This role is crucial for managing all financial and accounting operations in a dynamic clinical research consulting environment. The Controller will collaborate closely with the CEO and the leadership team, taking ownership of both daily accounting functions and strategic financial planning. This hands-on position is ideal for someone with substantial experience in accounting and finance, particularly in a service-oriented or software context, looking to impact financial growth and operational efficiency.
Accountabilities
- Own all accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee revenue recognition for diverse consulting engagements and ensure timely client invoicing.
- Assist the CEO with pricing strategy, financial modeling, and profitability analysis.
- Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts, analyze variances, and monitor cash flow.
- Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors and participate in Board meetings as needed.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and coordinate with external partners for audits and tax preparation.
- Maintain and improve accounting systems and implement scalable processes to support growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Proven experience working as a Controller, preferably in professional services or consulting.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and project-based revenue recognition.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial reporting systems.
- Experience preparing executive- and Board-level financial reports.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual.
- Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate financial data into clear business insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
