FRCPS Family Support Specialist

Position Summary
The FRCPS Family Support Specialist plays a critical role in delivering strength-based, family-centered support to children and families referred by the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS). These families may have open Family Preservation cases, active investigations, or be in licensed or unlicensed kinship placements. The Family Support Specialist works collaboratively with families to assess needs, develop service plans, provide targeted interventions, and connect them with community resources to promote child safety, stability, and well-being. As a key member, the Specialist ensures quality care, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with Growing Home Southeast’s mission.
Scope of Work
In alignment with agency policies and the confidential nature of services provided, the Family Support Specialist will perform duties including, but not limited to: family assessment, service planning, progress monitoring, home visitation, parent education, case management, facilitation of community referrals, and the provision of concrete supports. All services are tailored to meet the specific needs and strengths of each family.
This position is an hourly, non-exempt position that can work up to 40 hours/week. Overtime is not permitted without approval from immediate supervisor and HR.
