At TBCo, we create easy-to-style statement pieces designed to make an impact. As a B Corp-certified brand, we believe in responsible retail, high-quality natural and recycled materials, and products that empower self-expression.

As TBCo continues to grow internationally, we’re building a network of talented freelance designers to support our Product team across Apparel, Sleep, Blankets and Accessories.

The Opportunity

Working closely with our in-house Designers, Buyers and wider Product team, you’ll help develop distinctive, commercially relevant collections that reflect TBCo’s design identity and resonate with our customers.

We’d love to hear from designers with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Womenswear and apparel


• Sleepwear and loungewear


• Textile design, blankets and woven products


• Knitted accessories


• Fashion accessories


• Print, pattern and colour development

Projects may range from seasonal trend and concept development through to final designs, colourways, CADs and supplier-ready artwork. Scope, timings and deliverables will be agreed for each brief.

What You May Work On

Depending on the project, this could include:

• Researching seasonal trends, customer insights and market direction


• Creating concept boards, colour palettes and design direction


• Developing original product, print, pattern or textile designs


• Translating creative ideas into commercially viable products


• Creating CADs, technical drawings, repeat patterns and colourways


• Preparing supplier-ready design packs and artwork


• Designing within agreed pricing, material and production parameters


• Considering responsible materials, durability and production methods


• Responding to feedback and completing agreed revisions


• Working collaboratively with the TBCo Product team and delivering to agreed deadlines

All work submitted must be original and free from third-party intellectual property restrictions.

We’re Looking For

• Relevant experience within fashion, textiles, sleepwear, blankets or accessories


• A strong portfolio showing original and commercially relevant design work


• A strong eye for colour, print, pattern, fabrication and product detail


• Experience designing for fashion, lifestyle or homeware brands


• Proficiency in relevant design software, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop


• The ability to interpret a brief while bringing fresh ideas and a distinctive point of view


• Strong commercial awareness alongside creative thinking


• Experience creating accurate technical artwork and supplier-ready files


• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication


• A proactive and reliable approach to managing freelance projects and deadlines


• An understanding of responsible design and material choices

Previous freelance experience is helpful but not essential.

Location: Remote, with potential for occasional collaboration at our Edinburgh studio
Project length: Dependent on the individual brief
Fees: Agreed in advance based on scope, deliverables and experience
