We started in Beijing in 2014 and the types of clients we serve are expert networks, investment firms, consulting firms and market research firms. We are a remote-first company whose staff is located across multiple countries. 

Key Responsibilities
As a freelance Japanese to English interpreter, you will provide high-quality interpretation services for due diligence meetings (expert network calls, focus groups), internal board meetings, investor relations (IR) meetings, and related professional engagements. We're looking primarily for talent who want to do live interpretation events, either consecutive or simultaneous. We require expertise in both languages and a strong understanding of the investment and market research domains.

The Role

• Provide accurate, contextually relevant, and culturally sensitive interpretation from Japanese to English and vice versa.


• Interpret for expert interviews, IR meetings and related events, ensuring precise communication of complex ideas.


• Work on-demand with no fixed schedule, supporting remote and in-person interpretation as required.


• Collaborate with clients to understand the meeting objectives and ensure interpretation aligns with their needs.

Key Requirements

• Language Proficiency: Native fluency in Japanese and professional-level proficiency in English.


• Educational Background:
  
  
  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  
  
  • Post-graduate qualification in interpretation is preferred.
  
  
  
  


• Experience:
  
  
  
  • 2-5 years of professional interpretation experience, specifically in market research, due diligence, and IR.
  
  
  • Experience working in investment or market research is a strong advantage.

  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments.

Working Hours & Location

• Flexibility: As a freelancer, you can set your own hours based on project availability.


• Location: Preferred candidates are based in Japan, but applications from qualified individuals residing elsewhere are welcome.
