The Company & Mission:

Join a mission driven defense technology company building next generation software systems that power U.S. Navy platforms, including combat systems aboard nuclear submarines. Our client builds sonobuoy sensors that collect edge data at sea and partners with the U.S. Navy to process SONAR data. The work goes directly into operational use.

What This Role is All About:

You’ll help build our client’s data management and AI platform for maritime domain awareness, from real time sensor feeds to historical analysis. You’ll join a small, senior team where engineers own problems end to end, and you’ll be a voice of judgment on the codebase: reviewing code, mentoring, and caring about the product as a whole. This is not a ticket queue.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Build application components and pages in React and Next.js


• Implement historical and real time data feeds using WebGPU


• Design and develop data models with PostgreSQL and Apache Iceberg


• Extend real time pipelines built on MQTT and Redpanda, and batch pipelines in Dagster


• Integrate machine learning models and algorithms into the application


• Improve local development and CI/CD with modern tooling and GitHub Actions


• Review teammates’ code and help keep the codebase healthy as the team grows

What You Bring:

• Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)


• Senior level full stack experience, with a track record of owning and shipping real systems end to end


• Expert TypeScript, plus strong React and Next.js


• Strong CSS skills, ideally TailwindCSS, and familiarity with state management such as React Context


• Experience with Node.js, GraphQL and REST APIs


• Proficiency with SQL and PostgreSQL


• Working knowledge of Python, Docker and Kubernetes


• Comfort reviewing other engineers’ code and mentoring, even without managing people


• High standards for code quality: typed, tested, linted


• High agency and real curiosity: you can explain the why behind what you built, several layers deep
