Facelove is a direct-to-consumer cosmetics brand for women over 45, selling in Germany and the US. We run our own paid media and creative production, a physical supply chain with a manufacturer and a fulfillment partner, customer support in two languages, and sixteen departments and partners that all report numbers every week.
Around 90% of our revenue arrives through paid media. Media buying buys the traffic, a Store Manager keeps Shopify running, an agency sends our email and SMS, and right now the founders decide the offers and write the retention specs. Nobody owns the numbers that join those pieces: conversion, AOV and revenue per visitor, the funnels paid traffic lands on, and the path to a second order. That's this seat. You'll spend your days in Shopify, Intelligems, Triple Whale and GA4, and in conversations with media buyers, designers and agencies who build what you brief.
This is a role for someone who has owned growth on a paid-social-led Shopify brand before and wants to do it again at scale. If your growth experience is mostly organic, brand or consulting across many clients at once, this isn't the seat.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The job splits into four areas. Roughly 40% store conversion and offers, 25% funnels for paid traffic, 25% retention and LTV, 10% the weekly read and roadmap. The common thread is revenue per visitor and what each customer is worth over time.
Store conversion and offers
- Own conversion, AOV and revenue per visitor on both stores. Against a baseline you lock in week 1.
- Run the test program. Always at least two tests live in Intelligems, each with a hypothesis, sample size and stop rule, and winners rolled out within a week.
- Design offers that move revenue. Bundles, tiers, upsells, free-gift thresholds and checkout, tested rather than guessed.
Funnels for paid traffic
- Match every scaled angle to a landing destination. Product page variants, bundle pages, advertorials, built before the campaign scales.
- Give media buying a funnel read they can act on. Conversion by source and landing page, blended CAC against target, and the change you'll make.
- Bring new full-funnel approaches. You don't run the ad accounts; you make sure the traffic they buy converts.
Retention and LTV
- Design the path to the second order. Post-purchase upsells, subscriptions on Loop, loyalty on Rise.ai.
- Run the retention calendar with our email and SMS agency. Briefed ahead, with an offer, a segment and a success metric on every send.
The weekly read and the roadmap
- One page to the CEO every Monday. What moved and why, what the tests said, this week's priorities by expected revenue impact, and the decisions you need.
- Keep the roadmap current. Every item with an owner and a date.
NON-NEGOTIABLE SKILLS
- 5+ years in growth or CRO for DTC brands on Shopify: In-house, or as the lead on a brand account at an agency. You can name the brands, the years and what you owned. Running CRO audits for many brands at once without owning the result does not count.
- Has owned revenue on a store at scale: A DTC store doing at least $1M a month, with conversion rate, AOV or revenue per visitor before and after your work, and numbers that add up when we ask the follow-up.
- Paid-media-led funnels: You've worked where most revenue came from paid social. You can explain how a landing destination changes CAC, talk ROAS, MER, CAC and contribution margin without notes, and say what a full-funnel approach to scaling Meta looks like.
- Structured experimentation: You've set up and called A/B tests yourself in Intelligems, Shoplift or similar, including offer or price tests. You know sample size, stop rules, and why a winner fails to hold after rollout.
- Offer and AOV design: You've built bundles, tiered offers, upsells or free-gift thresholds and can give the take rate or AOV change for at least one.
- Retention and LTV: You've led post-purchase upsells, subscriptions or lifecycle email and SMS, directing an agency or team, and can name the effect on repeat purchase or LTV.
- Pulls your own numbers: GA4, Shopify analytics, Triple Whale or similar attribution, heatmaps and recordings, without waiting for an analyst.
- Gets work shipped through people who don't report to you: You can name a test or funnel a designer, developer, agency or media buyer built on your brief, and what you did when it stalled.
- Writes decisions a CEO can act on: One page, ranked by revenue impact, with a recommendation on every decision it asks for.
- Working hours: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 CET with a one-hour break, a reliable connection and a quiet workspace.
NICE TO HAVE
- Beauty, skincare or wellness, especially for women over 40.
- Experience with a German or wider EU store alongside a US one.
- Advertorial, listicle or quiz funnels built for paid social traffic.
- A view on reducing dependence on Meta through other channels.
THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF
- You think growth is the website. Here almost all revenue arrives through paid media, and you'll spend as much time with media buyers as in Shopify.
- Your best tests were button colors and headline tweaks. We want offer, price, bundle and funnel tests that move revenue per visitor.
- You need a team to execute before you can ship anything. You'll set up tests yourself and brief the people who build the rest.
- You want to stay fractional or keep advising other brands. This is one brand, full-time.
- You'd rather present ideas than numbers. The Monday read starts with what moved and why.
- You can't commit to 40 hours a week on CET hours, wherever you live.
