Job Description - Hematology & Oncology Physician

JOB OVERVIEW

• Job Title: Physician – Hematology/Oncology

• Job Type: Locum Tenens

• Location: Orangeburg, SC

• Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic

• Coverage Type: Clinical Only

• Coverage Period: 10/06/2025 – 12/31/2025

• Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon – Wed, 8a – 5p (1hr unpaid lunch); Thu (Admin day, remote)

PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: Adults with oncologic and hematologic malignancies

• Patient Volume/Census: 20–25 patients/day

• Case Mix: All disease types (oncologic and hematologic)

FACILITY INFORMATION

• EMR System: Epic

• Office Equipment Available: TBD

• Specialty Backup Available: TBD

• Support Staff Available: TBD

• Reason for Coverage: Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

• Temporary Privileges Available: TBD

• Credentialing Timeline: 90 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Rate: TBD

• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance:

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Sign and monitor chemotherapy infusion patients

• Establish care for new oncologic and hematologic malignancies

• Follow-up office visits

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active South Carolina license required

• Certifications: Board Eligible (within 5 years)

• Experience: Fellowship required

• Other Qualifications: EPIC training

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care

• Conduct follow-up visits and new patient evaluations

• Monitor and sign off on chemotherapy treatments

• Manage care for a broad spectrum of hematologic and oncologic conditions

• Complete administrative work remotely on Thursdays
