We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney located in Western Pennsylvania. This is a fully remote opportunity for a self-directed attorney with substantial insurance defense experience who can independently manage higher-value and complex litigation matters with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  Independently manage insurance defense matters from inception through resolution

  
  


• 
  

  Handle higher-value and complex litigation

  
  


• 
  

  Develop case strategy

  
  


• 
  

  Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct and defend depositions

  
  


• 
  

  Handle court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trial preparation

  
  


• 
  

  Take ownership of significant litigation matters with minimal supervision

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, self-insured entities, and corporate clients

  
  


• 
  

  Help develop the firm's insurance defense presence throughout Western Pennsylvania

  
  


• 
  

  Build and maintain regional professional relationships

  
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  

  Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  
  


• 
  

  Active Pennsylvania law license

  
  


• 
  

  Substantial insurance defense litigation experience

  
  


• 
  

  Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex matters

  
  


• 
  

  Experience handling higher-value litigation

  
  


• 
  

  Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

  
  

Strongly Preferred

• 
  

  Large loss or high-exposure insurance defense experience

  
  


• 
  

  Trial experience

  
  


• 
  

  Significant deposition experience

  
  


• 
  

  Experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured entities

  
  


• 
  

  General liability, automobile liability, premises liability, or trucking/transportation litigation experience

  Existing relationships with regional insurance carriers, claims professionals, or corporate clients
