The Insurance Producer at the Quakkelaar Insurance Agency representing the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies is responsible for growing the book of business through new life insurance sales.

Responsibilities: 

  • Identify, qualify, and develop life insurance sales with new and existing clients in person, online, by phone, and through written communication. 

  • Foster excellent relationships with clients and prospects through regular follow-up, accurate and timely quotations, and general account support. 

  • Actively prospect, round accounts, and solicit increases in existing client coverage, as well as network for new clients, and contact former clients. 

  • Obtain best coverage/rate for insured, process quotes, submit insurance applications, and deliver life insurance policies. 

  • Anticipate, respond to, and follow up on all existing client needs.

  • Monitor, review, and report on key metrics to ensure sales targets are achieved and execute sales activity documentation in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.

  • Collaborate with team members, answer questions, and participate in formal and informal meetings as needed.

  • Maintain continuing education requirements, keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.

 
Qualifications:

  • Hold a State of Michigan Life accident and health insurance license.  

  • Have a minimum of two years of life insurance sales and service experience.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a source of reliable transportation. 

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of life insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively secure new business.

  • Have a proven track record of person-to-person sales success. 

  • Possess strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills with the ability to close sales.

  • Be people-oriented, customer-focused, and professionally assertive in developing new client relationships and servicing existing clients.

  • Possess outstanding organizational skills with an ability to complete assignments without supervision, sound business judgment, strong decision-making, and superior written and verbal communication skills.

  • Have excellent time management skills, thrive in a team environment, and be able to work independently.



Flexible work from home options available.



Compensation: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
