The Indirect Procurement Manager, Japan is responsible for developing and executing the country-level strategy for indirect procurement categories, ensuring alignment with global and regional procurement goals. The role acts as a strategic business partner to cross-functional stakeholders across commercial, corporate, and site-based functions, driving value through cost optimization, supplier performance, innovation, and compliance.

This role will be critical in shaping local sourcing strategies while leveraging global and regional agreements, ensuring procurement excellence in a complex, matrixed organization.

「間接購買マネージャー（日本）」は、日本国内における間接購買カテゴリーの戦略を策定・実行し、グローバルおよびリージョナルの購買目標と整合させる責任を担う。このポジションは、CFU（日本事業）、コーポレート部門、各拠点の機能など、部門横断的なステークホルダーに対する戦略的なビジネスパートナーとしての役割を果たし、コスト最適化、サプライヤーパフォーマンスの向上、イノベーション、コンプライアンスを通じて付加価値を提供する。

本ポジションは、グローバルおよびリージョナルの契約を活用しながら、ローカル購買戦略の形成において重要な役割を担い、複雑でマトリクス型の組織における購買の卓越性を確保するための鍵となる。

Category Strategy & Execution:

• Lead the execution of indirect procurement strategies across key categories such as Marketing Services, IT, Professional Services, Facilities Management, HR Services, and R&D.
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle from sourcing to contract management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

カテゴリー戦略と実行：

• マーケティングサービス、IT、プロフェッショナルサービス、ファシリティマネジメント、人事、R&D（研究開発）などの主要カテゴリーにおける間接購買戦略の実行をリードする。
• ソーシングから契約管理までの購買ライフサイクル全体を管理し、ビジネス目標との整合性を確保する。

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management:

• Build strong, trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders at country level, including senior leaders in Finance, HR, IT, Commercial, and Operations.
• Proactively understand business needs and co-develop sourcing solutions that deliver value beyond savings (e.g., innovation, speed to market, risk mitigation).
• Act as the procurement point of contact for Japan, ensuring high stakeholder engagement and satisfaction.

• 日本における購買部門の窓口として機能し、ステークホルダーの高いエンゲージメントと満足度を確保する。

Supplier & Contract Management:

• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts in alignment with local regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
• Drive supplier performance, risk management, and innovation initiatives through regular performance reviews and KPI monitoring.

• 定期的なパフォーマンスレビューやKPIのモニタリングを通じて、サプライヤーのパフォーマンス、リスク管理、イノベーション施策を推進する。

Governance & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to global procurement policies and procedures, and promote best-in-class sourcing practices.
• Support internal and external audit requirements and ensure full transparency in procurement processes.

ガバナンスおよびコンプライアンス：

• グローバルの購買方針および手続きを遵守し、ベストプラクティスに基づいた購買手法の推進を図る。
• 社内外の監査要件に対応し、購買プロセスにおける透明性を確保する。

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in Indirect Procurement, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry or experience in a regulated industry, ideally pharmaceuticals, with understanding of compliance and audit requirements.
• Demonstrated experience working in a large multinational or matrixed organization, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Strong category expertise in at least 2–3 of the following: Marketing Services, Professional Services, IT, Facilities, HR Services, Travel.
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and deliver measurable value through procurement initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English (mandatory) and Japanese (business-level or fluent).
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Proficient in procurement tools (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, SAP) and analytics.
• CIPS or other relevant procurement certification a plus.
• Demonstrated success in implementing change and driving process improvements in procurement organizations.

必要な資格・スキル・経験：

• 経営学、サプライチェーン、工学、または関連分野の学士号（さらに好ましくは修士号）。
• 間接購買における5～10年の実務経験（製薬業界またはヘルスケア業界での経験、もしくは製薬業界を含む規制業界での経験が望ましく、コンプライアンスおよび監査要件に関する理解があること）。
• 大手グローバル企業またはマトリクス型組織での勤務経験があり、直接的な権限を持たずとも影響力を発揮できる能力。
• 以下のうち2～3カテゴリにおける高度な専門知識：マーケティングサービス、プロフェッショナルサービス、IT、ファシリティ、人事サービス、出張・旅行関連サービス。
• 複雑なステークホルダー環境をマネジメントし、購買施策を通じて測定可能な価値を提供した実績。
• 英語（必須）および日本語（ビジネスレベル以上）の優れたコミュニケーション能力および対人スキル。
• 高度な交渉力、契約管理能力、サプライヤーリレーションシップマネジメントスキル。
• 調達関連ツール（例：Coupa、Ariba、SAP）およびデータ分析のスキルに精通していること。
• CIPSなどの購買関連資格を有していれば尚可。
• 購買組織における変革の推進やプロセス改善を成功裏に導いた経験。
