We are looking for an experienced Jira Administrator to configure and implement a standalone Jira Cloud instance for an enterprise client managing a post-acquisition integration program.
The goal is to create a centralized workspace where multiple functional teams can manage milestones, dependencies, risks, and decisions while providing leadership with clear visibility into progress and blockers.
This role will focus on Jira Cloud administration, configuration, permissions, workflows, dashboards, and data migration from Google Sheets. The solution should be simple, scalable, and reusable for future acquisition projects, without unnecessary automation or complex workflows.
Provision and configure a standalone Jira Cloud instance, including user groups, administrator roles, permissions, and security settings.
Design and configure issue types for Milestones, Dependencies, Risks, and Decisions.
Set up custom fields, components, and a simple workflow to track work progress, blockers, and outstanding decisions.
Configure issue links to manage cross-functional dependencies and identify relationships between milestones.
Implement lightweight automation for required-field validation and notifications for overdue or blocked items.
Build boards, filters, and dashboards for individual workstreams, cross-functional dependencies, overdue items, blockers, and executive reporting.
Import existing milestone data from Google Sheets into Jira, including field mapping and data validation.
Evaluate and configure an appropriate structure to reuse the setup for future acquisition projects.
Assess user access for internal and external stakeholders, including licensing, identity management, and single sign-on considerations.
Document the configuration and provide an administrator guide, a recorded walkthrough, and a knowledge-transfer session for the client team.
Hands-on experience administering and configuring Jira Cloud instances.
Experience configuring issue types, custom fields, workflows, permissions, user groups, and project components.
Strong knowledge of Jira boards, filters, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.
Experience implementing issue linking and dependency tracking across multiple teams or workstreams.
Experience importing and mapping data from spreadsheets, particularly Google Sheets or Excel, into Jira.
Understanding of Jira Cloud licensing, user access management, and security configuration.
Ability to design reusable Jira configurations and templates that can scale across multiple projects.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver independently under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and experience providing documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to non-technical users.
Nice to have:
Experience with Atlassian organization administration and single sign-on configurations.
Familiarity with Confluence and its integration with Jira.
Experience supporting M&A integrations, enterprise program management, or cross-functional project tracking.
