  • Provide technical oversight, performance feedback, and professional development guidance.

  • Establish and enforce best practices, documentation standards, and validation protocols across the simulation team.

  • Lead the development and implementation of analytical tools and simulation models to predict thermal, mechanical, dielectric, and electromagnetic performance.

  • Guide and review team analyses including CFD, FEA, electromagnetic and electrostatic simulations for design validation and optimization.

  • Integrate simulation results with physical test data to validate models and refine design criteria.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Testing, Manufacturing, and Product Management) to translate simulation insights into actionable design recommendations.

  • Drive continuous improvement in simulation accuracy, efficiency, and integration with digital design workflows.

  • Evaluate and recommend new simulation tools, techniques, and training to advance team capabilities.

  • Represent the Analysis & Simulation discipline in design reviews, technical discussions, and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of thermal, electromagnetic, and structural principles relevant to power distribution equipment.

  • Expertise in multiphysics Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods using tools such as Ansys or COMSOL.

  • Familiar with three-phase electric power concepts, power distribution systems, power control and protection strategies.

  • Familiarity with statistical analysis methods to interpret and utilize empirical data effectively.

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing, testing or analyzing low and/or medium voltage power distribution equipment or related products.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.

  • Design Experience using Solidworks is highly preferred.

  • Experience with common standards for electrical equipment (UL 891, 1558, 508A; IEEE C37.20, etc.) is a plus.

Workplace Conditions

  • An on-site work schedule based out of our R&D Innovation Center in Tualatin, OR is preferred.

  • Remote positions may be available for the right candidate.
