Position Overview

FSS Technologies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Voltage Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial fire alarm and electronic security systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, professionalism in customer environments, and a commitment to code compliance and safety standards.

This is a field-based position with daily travel to customer locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm, intrusion, access control, and CCTV systems.


• Diagnose system issues and implement corrective actions efficiently.


• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and system testing in accordance with NFPA and manufacturer standards.


• Program and configure system components as required.


• Accurately complete service tickets, reports, and required documentation.


• Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and equipment.


• Ensure company vehicle and equipment are kept clean and in professional condition.


• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding system status and recommendations.


• Follow all OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and company safety requirements.


• Participate in on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.


• 3+ years of commercial low-voltage service experience.

• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. 

• Comfortable working in various environments, including client sites and on ladders. 

• Must be able to work at heights. 

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions. 

What We Offer

• Pay range for this role is between $20 - $40 per hour based on experience and knowledge.

• Company Vehicle:  Technicians are eligible for a company vehicle after 90 days of service, and it is based on availability
