Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by personnel assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
Education/Experience/Certifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences and 2 years of clinical laboratory experience. Clinical Laboratory experience can be counted toward the degree requirement* as follows:
*Experience used to satisfy the education requirement should not also be counted again toward a candidate’s experience assessment. (i.e. Experience should not be double counted.)
2. 3 years of experience working with CPT, HCPCS and revenue codes for accuracy and compliance with all state and federal guidelines is required (may be gained as part of the requirements in the preceding bullet).
3. Epic EMR experience is preferred.
4. AAPC or AHIMA certification is preferred.
