Job Description - MPI Technical Lead

Company Description 

CRISP Shared Services (CSS) serves as the technology partner for health information exchange (HIE) affiliates in Maryland, DC, West Virginia, Connecticut, Alaska, Virginia and other jurisdictions. CSS facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes, reduced costs, and data-driven understanding of regional public health concerns.

Job Summary

The MPI Technical Lead role ensures the MPI system is healthy and performant, manages the work, projects, and processes of the MPI team, and works with customers to enroll new participants into the HIE. This position is focused primarily on managing the Master Data Management Infrastructure that manages CRISP Patient Entities. The candidate will perform documented tasks critical to maintaining system health and operational excellence. They will work with internal staff to coordinate changes and document new features related to their assigned system. The lead will also manage the intake of work to the team, distribute work amongst the team members, and provide reporting on progress with the MPI. 

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Master IBM’s MDM system and how it integrates with other CRISP services
  • Provide Operational Support for the MDM Infrastructure, including the databases and servers in the landscape.
  • Coordinate with the MDM support vendor to implement enhancements to the MDM landscape
  • Work with Insights team to develop techniques for improving data quality
  • Develops and maintains data quality dashboards for the MPI and supported regions
  • Compare and contrast data elements from various sources
  • Use IBM tools and Data Analytics tools to find defects, report and resolve issue
  • Maintain data integrity in the MDM system
  • Act quickly when there is a priority data issue in the MDM system
  • Maintain compliance with privacy & security requirements in accordance with CRISP policy

  • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for assigned systems and their performance and uptime
  • Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with both a technical and non-technical audience
  • Ability to understand complex database structures and navigate them effectively
  • Ability to evaluate and solve complex problems and issues
  • Ability to create and understand technical documentation
  • Provide outstanding customer service focused assistance to all internal and external customers
  • Able to initiate and follow through on multiple tasks across several projects with effective time management skills

Experience and/or Education Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree required in computer science or information systems
  • Understanding of Healthcare Integrations via experience or education, preferred
  • Healthcare IT experience preferred
  • Expertise with IBM’s InfoSphere Master Data Management preferred
  • Working knowledge of large-scale SQL Databases 
  • 2-5 years of experience crafting complex SQL statements
  • 2-5 years of experience with Databricks and Data Factory
  • 2-5 years of experience troubleshooting API’s
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

   

Compensation and Benefits Package

  • Targeted base salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus benefits and bonuses.
  • Benefits include the following but are not limited to health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. CSS also has a 403(b) plan with discretionary employer match and contributions. You will be eligible for 20 days of Paid Time Off per year (accrued in accordance with CSS’s policies). PTO is in addition to 8 company designated holidays. If you are not PTO eligible, you may be eligible for applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave in accordance with the provisions of any applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave laws.
