About the role:
The Music Therapist will provide music therapy services to patients, family members, and others through the integrative medicine program. A team member in this position may also provide support and supervision to volunteers or students working in connection with the program. The Music Therapist will work closely with the interdisciplinary team under the supervision of the Integrative Medicine Program Coordinator.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited educational institution. Bachelor’s degree with related job experience may be considered.
Board Certification as a Music Therapist.
Related experience in healthcare is preferred.
Proficiency creating Heartbeat Songs utilizing a EKO Stethoscope and Garage Band is preferred.
Awareness of current issues and best practices in music therapy and standards of professional practice.
Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in confidential matters.
Strong understanding of the physical, emotional and psychological needs of patients and their families.
Ability to work flexibly and respond to the changing needs of patients and the organization.
Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team that focuses on providing complementary therapies to address psychosocial and physical needs as identified in the patient’s plan of care.
Should possess an understanding of the dying process, and the ability to manage the emotional impact of working with the ill, dying, and bereaved.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order, that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements, with personal auto liability insurance of $100,000/$300,000 in bodily injury coverage.
Team members will be expected to comply with Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
