National Lead - Key Accounts Retail (US)



The National Lead - Key Accounts (Retail) is a strategic leadership role responsible for leading and expanding Scope’s presence and strategic direction across major national retailers, including Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Meijer, and Cencora. Reporting directly to the US Head of Sales, this role is central to driving the growth of the OPTASE brand in the eyecare category by building strong partnerships with retail buyers, brokers, and internal stakeholders. The position requires a deep understanding of retail operations, category management, and shopper behavior. The National Lead will ensure Scope’s products are positioned successfully on shelf and online, while delivering against brand, SKU, and retailer targets. By leveraging data insights and market trends, the role will identify opportunities to expand distribution, optimize product placement, and strengthen Scope’s competitive position in the eyecare market.



This is a remote role with some travel (approx 25%) around the US.



Key Responsibilities



National Retail Account Management



  • Lead day-to-day management and strategic oversight of key national retail accounts, including Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Meijer, and Cencora.

  • Expand Scope presence withing Drug, Mass, Grocery, Beauty channels.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact, driving strong, collaborative partnerships and ensuring alignment on plans, performance, and execution across retail partners.


Broker Relationship Oversight



  • Manage and strengthen Scope’s partnership with the retail broker, ensuring alignment on strategic priorities and execution to maximize retail opportunities.


Brand Growth & Distribution Expansion



  • Drive the growth of the OPTASE brand’s retail footprint by delivering against brand, SKU, and retailer targets.

  • Identify and secure new retail partnerships to expand Scope’s presence in the eyecare category.


Retail Business Reporting & Analysis



  • Own and lead the end-to-end retail reporting strategy, delivering timely, accurate, and insight-driven performance analysis across all reporting cycles.

  • Synthesize retail data, customer performance, and eyecare market trends to identify high-impact growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.


Operational Excellence



  • Partner cross-functionally and with external stakeholders to ensure seamless product delivery, invoicing accuracy, and efficient resolution of operational issues.

  • Drive adherence to retailer benchmarks and operational standards, proactively identifying and resolving gaps to ensure best-in-class execution.


Annual Reset & Category Management



  • Lead annual retail reset strategy and execution for key national accounts, partnering with senior sales leadership to drive optimal in-store positioning and performance.

  • Own and influence planogram strategy, promotional planning, and category reviews to maximize visibility, assortment effectiveness, and competitive advantage.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field required.

  • Professional certifications, advanced qualifications, or relevant industry memberships are desirable.



Knowledge & Skills



Sales & Account Management Expertise



  • 5+ years’ experience in Sales and/or Key Account Management, with a strong track record of managing national brick-and-mortar retail accounts.

  • Proven ability to lead complex sales cycles and influence retail buyers and category managers to drive commercial growth.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic account plans that deliver measurable business outcomes.


Retail Ecosystem Knowledge



  • Deep understanding of the retail landscape, including category management, merchandising, supply chain, and promotional execution.

  • Experience managing and growing relationships with large national and regional retailers.

  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end “concept-to-shelf” process, including product launches, planogram resets, and promotional planning.


Relationship Building & Stakeholder Management



  • Proven ability to build and maintain high-impact relationships with diverse stakeholders across retail organizations.

  • Highly effective at influencing and collaborating with brokers, distributors, and cross-functional internal teams to drive aligned outcomes.

  • Skilled in navigating complex stakeholder environments to deliver results and strengthen long-term partnerships.


Analytical & Strategic Capability



  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to synthesize retail data, POS insights, and market trends into actionable strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate insights into strategic account plans that drive growth and improve performance.


Technical Proficiency



  • Excellent computer literacy with advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.

  • Skilled in CRM systems and proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).


Personal Effectiveness & Resilience



  • Self‑motivated with strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure while managing a diverse and demanding workload.

  • Energy, resilience, and enthusiasm are key advantages in this role.


Flexibility & Travel



  • Flexible attitude toward working hours and business demands.



Willingness to travel approximately 25% across the U.S., ideally based in a metro area with a major hub airport to facilitate efficient travel.
