Job Description - National Sales Representative

Position: National Sales Representative

Our client, a primary producer, processor, and distributor of fresh and frozen seafood, is looking for a National Sales Representative. They are known for their high-quality products, including CA Squid, Tuna, and Pelagics, and offer a comprehensive benefits plan for their employees, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, and a 401k with a 3% employer match.

Job Description

The National Sales Representative will play a crucial role in the organization. You will be a strategic and dynamic sales leader responsible for selling fresh and frozen seafood to multiple business channels. While the company is known primarily as an international exporter, this role will focus on domestic business. The ideal candidate will have contacts on a national scale that can buy by the container to bring in new clients, but this is not a strict requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new Retail Grocery, Food Service Distribution & National Chain Restaurant Accounts
  • Fresh and frozen commodity sales included
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, represents the company in a professional manner
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Able to work well with others in a positive team-oriented workplace
  • Grow business exponentially year over year
  • Ensure all sales reporting and metrics are completed and submitted on time
  • Proficient in essential computer job functions (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as ability to learn needed programs such as order entry, inventory, etc.
  • Travel will be required, as needed, to meet with customers and prospects as needed
  • This position is a blend of on-site, remote (work from home) and field travel 5 days a week in the Greater Los Angeles area

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ retail grocery, food service distribution or wholesale seafood experience
  • Track record of success in New Business Development roles
  • Self-motivated, personable, energetic and able to work well with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Stable work history with no frequent job changes
