Okta Architect

RedMatter Solutions is seeking an experienced Okta Architect to provide technical architecture and strategic leadership for a large-scale federal Identity and Access Management environment. The Okta Architect will design resilient enterprise Okta solutions, establish technical patterns and standards, and help guide modernization and migration initiatives.

The ideal candidate will combine deep Okta architecture expertise with an understanding of Zero Trust, federal ICAM requirements, enterprise identity architecture, and modern digital-service delivery practices.

This position is primarily remote/telework; however, occasional onsite support may be required for meetings or other contractual activities.

Responsibilities:

• Design highly available and resilient enterprise Okta architectures, including Okta GovCloud environments. 
• Develop identity architecture patterns supporting authentication, authorization, federation, and identity lifecycle management. 
• Design complex user attribute mappings and identity data flows. 
• Architect Zero Trust access policies and authentication solutions. 
• Design SIEM integrations and monitoring pipelines supporting anomaly detection and risk scoring. 
• Develop architectural approaches for integrating Okta with enterprise directories, applications, and other identity platforms. 
• Participate in product roadmap development, dependency mapping, migration planning, and modernization initiatives. 
• Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams and support resolution of complex technical issues. 
• Ensure solutions align with federal ICAM, HSPD-12, FISMA, and Zero Trust principles. 
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation and technical standards. 
• Collaborate with engineers, security teams, product stakeholders, and customer leadership.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of IAM engineering and architecture experience. 
• 5+ years of experience architecting Okta solutions in large organizations. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience implementing or supporting IAM solutions within federal or public-sector environments. 
• Demonstrated experience designing highly available and resilient Okta architectures. 
• Experience designing complex user attribute mappings and Zero Trust access policies. 
• Experience architecting SIEM integrations and monitoring pipelines. 
• Experience supporting IAM product roadmaps, dependency mapping, and migration planning. 
• Working knowledge of ICAM, HSPD-12, FISMA, and Zero Trust principles. 
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, identity governance, access controls, and auditability. 
• Okta Certified Technical Architect or equivalent senior credential. 
• Ability to meet federal suitability requirements associated with privileged IAM access. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience architecting Okta GovCloud environments. 
• Experience supporting large-scale federal IAM modernization initiatives. 
• Experience integrating Okta with Active Directory, Entra ID, LDAP, SIEM, and enterprise applications. 
• Experience with Agile delivery, CI/CD, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code.
