Job Description - Operations Finance Analyst

From purchase order to month end close, you'll own the data that connects supply chain execution to financial reporting.

About Us

The company is an organic food company that makes healthy, convenient foods. Join a fast growing, innovative, consumer products company that’s disrupting a category.

What You Will Do

The Operations Finance Analyst is a key member of the Finance Operations team, supporting the connection between purchasing, production, inventory, fulfillment, and financial reporting. This hands-on role executes critical purchasing and operational workflows, maintains accurate system and reporting data, and translates operational activity into KPI reporting, reconciliations, variance analysis, and actionable insights for management.

Working closely with Supply Planning, Production, Operations, suppliers, and fulfillment partners, the Analyst identifies risks, resolves discrepancies, improves processes, and provides the data and analysis needed to support effective operational and financial decision-making.

Purchasing and Production Support:

  • Manage purchase-order execution from approved MRP requirements through supplier confirmation, delivery tracking, and discrepancy resolution.

  • Track ingredients, packaging, and component availability against the production schedule, including brand-owned and toller-owned materials, and escalate timing risks promptly.

  • Provide purchasing, inventory, and open-order data to support production decisions, operational forecasting, and cash-planning inputs.

Inventory, Systems, and Data Integrity:

  • Maintain accurate operational transactions across waste tracking, sales-order processing, FBA assemblies, inventory transfers, and related Cin7 workflows.

  • Investigate Amazon, fulfillment, and third-party inventory movement issues and coordinate resolution with internal and external partners.

  • Prepare and process approved inventory adjustments with appropriate support and audit traceability.

  • Own end-to-end accuracy of inventory data across Cin7 Core and QuickBooks Online, ensuring that cost flows (material costs, landed costs, variances) are correctly captured, reported and reconciled.

KPI Reporting and Operational Finance:

  • Own recurring operational and KPI reporting using Cin7, Easy Insight, Parabola, Owlery, and other available data sources.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reporting on open orders, inventory outlook, fulfillment, purchasing, production support, and other operational metrics.

  • Analyze results against plan, forecast, prior periods, and operational targets; investigate key variances and cost drivers.

  • Partner with Operations, Supply Planning, and Finance leadership on ad hoc analysis, forecasting inputs, and decision support.

Reconciliation, Close, and Process Improvement:

  • Support month-end close and inventory reconciliation through timely data preparation, investigation, and documentation.

  • Create and maintain Cin7 and operational SOPs as systems and workflows evolve.

  • Identify recurring transactions, reporting, and reconciliation issues and recommend practical process, control, or system improvements.

  • Coordinate cross-functional issue resolution and communicate risks early, clearly, and with appropriate supporting data.

Who You Are

Your experience with reconciliations, variance analysis, operational reporting, and vendor communication helps you bring strong analytical judgment and sharp attention to detail. Your genuine commitment to data accuracy means small discrepancies don't slip by unnoticed. You move comfortably between detailed execution, cross-functional problem-solving, and management-level analysis. Proactive communication and follow-through are second nature, issues get flagged before they affect production, fulfillment, or reporting, not after.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in operations finance, procurement, purchasing, inventory, supply chain, financial analysis, or a related cross-functional role.

  • Demonstrated experience with operational reporting, forecasting support, reconciliations, variance analysis, vendor coordination, and discrepancy resolution.

  • Experience using an ERP, MRP, inventory-management, or financial system; Cin7 Core or a comparable platform strongly preferred.

  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze and reconcile data across multiple systems and sources.

  • Experience supporting month-end close, inventory reconciliation, management reporting, or financial planning activities.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities across purchasing, production, reporting, and close deadlines.

  • Process-improvement mindset with the ability to strengthen documentation, controls, and reporting.

  • Experience in manufacturing, CPG, food, consumer products, distribution, or third-party fulfillment preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred; advanced education or equivalent experience is valued.

Benefits

  • $110,000 - $120,000 salary

  • 100% paid Health insurance premiums for employees

  • Vision & Dental coverage

  • 401(k) plan

  • Flexible PTO
