This Position is Contingent on the Contract Award

Position Overview: The Operations Research Analyst (Journeyman) will support the Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM) G-5 Directorate by identifying, assessing, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance Marine Corps installations. This role involves researching emerging technologies, coordinating modernization initiatives, and supporting strategic efforts to improve infrastructure, operational efficiency, and force readiness.

Job Type: Full-time/Exempt

Location: Hybrid (Pentagon and Remote) 

Travel: May be required

Anticipated Start Date: 05/01/2025

Position Responsibilities:

Modernization & Capability Development

  • Identify and assess new technologies, processes, and capabilities that can enhance Marine Corps installations.
  • Collaborate with Marine Corps Warfighting Lab, Marine Corps Systems Command, DoD agencies, and private industry to integrate innovative solutions.
  • Assist in developing policies, procedures, and interim guidance for new capabilities as they are transitioned into operations.

Strategic Planning & Project Management

  • Support the execution of Installation Next (I-neXt) and Force Design (FD) initiatives.
  • Develop and refine strategic plans, operational orders (PLANORDs/OPORDs), and Letters of Instruction (LOIs) for modernization programs.
  • Assist in branding, publication support, and strategic communication for MCICOM modernization initiatives.

· Coordination & Communication 

  • Facilitate engagement with MCICOM leadership, regional staffs, research institutions, and military stakeholders.
  • Provide conference planning and meeting support, including agenda development, logistics coordination, and post-event reporting.
  • Conduct reviews and propose updates to applicable orders, directives, and policies governing installation modernization.

Requirements

  

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree Required 
  • Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience: Minimum 4-10 years (Journeyman) of experience in capabilities development, modernization planning, or military infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of Marine Corps and DoD modernization initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and data analysis tools.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to analyze and recommend innovative solutions to enhance Marine Corps installations.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a classified environment and travel as needed.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Prior military experience or experience supporting DoD planning efforts preferred.
