Position Summary
The Supervisor OSP (Outside Plant) at NoaNet is a key operational leader, reporting directly to the OSP Manager. This role is a working Supervisor position responsible for the day-to-day project oversight, to include the support of an assigned OSP team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the ongoing reliability of NoaNet’s fiber network infrastructure. The Supervisor is instrumental in aligning the team with both short-term deliverables and long-term organizational objectives.
Core Responsibilities
The Supervisor OSP (Outside Plant) will be responsible for managing all activities performed by both NoaNet OSP employees and contractors. Ensuring that work performed meets or exceeds NoaNet Construction standards and projects are completed by design, on-time and within the allocated budget.
Requires As-built and final Invoice review prior to approval.
This position requires strong communication and teamwork within the OSP Manager and OSP team, as well as cross-collaboration with other departments across the organization.
Accountable for project schedules and compliance associated with OSP and construction activities, along with the safety and quality of work performed.
Lead an internal OSP team and provide leadership and mentorship through coaching, feedback, and development goals annually.
Ensure work orders and designs follow all company standards, NESC standards, and municipal requirements, as well as public ROW or utility easements.
Coordinate and participate in various internal meetings to ensure communication and alignment of initiatives, information sharing, and implementation of best practices Drive and OSP process advancement.
Provide technical guidance and input on technologies for implementation and consideration.
Assist the NOC during outages and give guidance of damaged locations prior to dispatching contractor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Training, Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
5-10+ years of OSP Engineering, construction and project management experience required.
Developed leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead others.
The qualified candidate will need to have a broad understanding of Construction practices and methodology, Access networks, FTTP/FTTN/FTTx, PON and P2P Ethernet, Long Haul, Mid Mile, and Feeder/Distribution facilities, and Customer Premise solutions
Advanced understanding of the permitting process for railroad, WSDOT, cities, counties, and pole owners.
Understanding of construction-based drawing systems like AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Visio.
Proficiency in common offices tools such as Excel, Work, Proficiency in common office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in common office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross functionally to achieve positive outcomes.
Works well in a team environment driven by partnerships. strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, supervisors, and external customers, as well as cohesively across departments.
Experience in aerial make-ready work and using programs such as NJUNS and Alden One for pole attachments.
Experience with Post-Inspection, As-Builts, and final invoicing review.
Experience with all types of Fiber Splicing and using and interpreting OTDR readings.
Experience/ SME with all types of Fiber materials including fiber, splice cases, fiber panels etc.
Availability and Travel Requirements
Position requires on call and 24-hour availability
Some travel is required
Other Requirements
Driving a company vehicle may be required: must have a current, state issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; must be able to provide proof of valid driver’s license and insurance
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ pounds
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain
