Paid Search/Paid Social Specialist

smartdept. is searching for a Paid Search / Paid Social Specialist for a growth and transformation consultancy serving ecommerce, retail, and DTC brands. This is a fully remote, ongoing freelance contract opportunity.

You'll run day-to-day paid media on Google and Meta for ecommerce brands, working alongside a senior growth marketing lead who sets strategy.

What You'll Do:

• Build, launch, and manage campaigns in Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager


• Optimize bids, budgets, audiences, and keywords to hit performance goals


• Set up and run creative and audience tests


• Monitor performance daily and flag issues early


• Partner with designers and copywriters on ad creative needs


• Pull reporting and share clear insights with the team

What You'll Need:

• Hands-on experience managing Google Ads and Meta campaigns for ecommerce or DTC brands


• Solid understanding of shopping, search, and paid social campaign types


• Experience with conversion tracking and GA4


• Strong analytical skills and comfort working in spreadsheets


• Comfort using AI tools to work faster


• Clear, reliable communication and the confidence to push back diplomatically when needed

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• TikTok, Pinterest, or Microsoft Ads


• Google Ads or Meta certifications


• Google Tag Manager
