PASTOR OF KIDS MINISTRIES // EAGLE BROOK CHURCH

JOB OBJECTIVES

• Leads volunteer teams to create safe, engaging experiences and foster relationships that transform lives, enabling kids to know and follow Jesus


• Champions the recruitment and development of early childhood and elementary volunteers, while equipping and empowering high-level leaders to mentor others


• Partners with families to provide pastoral support and spiritual guidance


• Reports to the Campus Pastor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

• Articulates and champions the vision of preparing kids to become lifelong followers of Jesus, inspiring staff, volunteers and parents to actively engage in this mission


• Provides supervision and ongoing development for assigned Kids Ministries staff, fostering their growth and effectiveness (depending on campus)


• Builds thriving volunteer teams by leveraging a tiered volunteer structure to ensure a healthy span of care


• Develops volunteer leaders by identifying, inspiring and investing in Team Leads, Directors and Large Group Leaders, fostering strong leadership and growth


• Equips core volunteers by creating an environment that supports recruitment, onboarding through orientation, ongoing training and spiritual growth, empowering them to fully own the mission


• Carries out Eagle Brook’s vision through volunteer support and care to ensure all kids, regardless of disability or additional needs, can fully participate


• Fosters lasting relationships with families to understand the strengths, gifts and needs of their children


• Builds and leads volunteer teams to implement care plans that support kids with identified needs, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive environment


• Delivers engaging and safe experiences for kids from drop-off to pick-up, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment


• Upholds Kids Ministries' safety policies and procedures, ensuring all volunteers are thoroughly trained and consistently follow safety guidelines


• Fosters a culture of inviting people into living out the value of serving in Kids Ministries as room volunteers, large and small group volunteers, special needs, technology and worship leaders


• Executes centrally designed Kids Ministries strategies, teaching, worship and curriculum for nursery, early childhood and elementary environments along with ensuring volunteers are equipped and prepared to execute the ministry wins


• Empowers parents as the primary leaders of their child’s spiritual development, offering guidance and support


• Provides pastoral care and spiritual direction for children and their families


• Performs key pastoral functions, including on-call support, baptisms, visits, weddings and funerals, ensuring compassionate care


• Pursues their individual spiritual formation and models authentic personal relationships with Jesus  

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS 

• Utilizes Eagle Brook’s data base tool to communicate with volunteers, manage processes and schedule volunteers 


• Collaborates with campus staff to support the ministry needs of the campus along with providing valuable feedback to the Central Kids Ministries team for continuous improvement and alignment


• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS  

Minimum Qualifications

• Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook Church’s nine core beliefs


• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 4+ years)


• 2+ years of experience building, leading, equipping and motivating volunteer leaders or teams of people and 2+ years of active and relevant kids and/or student ministry leadership experience 


• Call to pastoral ministry and desire for people to know Jesus


• Must meet Biblical qualification for pastoral leadership


• Strong evidence of a Christ-centered life


• Experience executing and leading ministry initiatives  


• Self-starter


• Skilled in problem solving and conflict resolution


• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced team and cross-functional environments


• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills


• Passionate about building a healthy team environment


• Strong ability to multitask with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail


• Energetic

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in education and/or kids ministry


• Seminary training or equivalent combination of education and experience

JOB DETAILS

• Location: Apple Valley, MN


• Status: Exempt/Salary


• Salary Range: $55,000 – $63,000


• Full/Part Time: Full Time


• Regular/Temporary: Regular


• Workdays: Saturday – Wednesday or Sunday – Thursday, depending on campus service schedule (must be able to meet when volunteers are available or pastoral care is needed)   


• Work Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with some evening hours for services, meetings and events


• Remote Eligible: may be eligible to work from home one day per week

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS\

• Regular assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned


• Regular communicating with others to exchange information

• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like


• Occasional moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another


• Occasional moving of self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces


• Occasional repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers


• Occasional noisy environments


• Occasional light work that includes adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions


• Occasional medium work that includes adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
