Payroll Specialist

CABLE Electrical Services is a third-generation, family-owned electrical contractor based in Apopka, Florida, specializing in large-scale multifamily apartment and condominium projects across the Southeastern United States. With nearly $1 billion in completed contracts, over 800 projects, and 200,000+ units served, we’re celebrating our 60th anniversary in 2025 and seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage payroll for our growing construction workforce

Responsibilities

Collect and verify employee timecards, hours worked, overtime, and certifications for up to 400 field and office staff in a construction environment.

• Process bi-weekly payroll using systems like QuickBooks or similar, calculating wages, deductions, bonuses, and compliance with FL state regulations.

• Prepare and file federal/state taxes, benefits payments (e.g., 401(k), health insurance), and workers’ comp reports specific to electrical contracting

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or relevant role, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of payroll best practices and labor laws.
• 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in construction or trades with hourly/field employees.
• Proficiency in payroll software (QuickBooks, ADP) and MS Excel; knowledge of FL labor laws a plus.
• Associate degree in accounting or related field; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
