Payroll professionals know there is no such thing as “just payroll.” Every adjustment, validation, deadline, and correction matters. At ProAmpac, we’re seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist who values accuracy, consistency, confidentiality, and dependable followâthrough.
This role is ideal for someone with strong handsâon payroll experience who enjoys working through details, identifying issues early, and partnering across HR, HRIS, Finance, Time & Attendance, and Payroll Tax to deliver a reliable payroll experience.
Support recurring payroll cycles and ensure payroll information is complete, accurate, documented, and processed on time.
Process recurring payroll inputs, adjustments, and supporting documentation
Review payroll files and adjustment records for accuracy and completeness
Support payroll cycle activities, validations, close processes, and deadlines
Partner with HRIS, Workforce Management, Time Services, Payroll Tax, Finance, and HR to resolve payroll issues
Support approved corrections, adjustments, and offâcycle payments
Maintain accurate payroll records, notes, and documentation
Assist with reconciliations, audits, and standard control processes
Identify incomplete information, recurring issues, and opportunities to strengthen consistency
Ensure employees are paid accurately and payroll commitments are met
Take ownership of assigned activities and contribute to continuous improvement
You understand payroll requires technical expertise, judgment, confidentiality, and precision.
4–6 years of payroll experience
Associate degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s preferred
Experience with HRIS or payroll platforms (ADP, UKG, or similar)
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Experience supporting payroll processes, reconciliations, audits, documentation, or process improvement
Strong analytical and problemâsolving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
Strong communication skills and crossâfunctional partnership
High discretion and professionalism with sensitive information
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
Notice when something doesn’t look right and investigate
Appreciate structure, documentation, controls, and clear processes
Balance speed with accuracy under deadlines
Communicate clearly when information is missing or issues arise
Take ownership and follow issues through to resolution
Enjoy collaborating across multiple business areas
Look for ways to make recurring processes more consistent and efficient
