Grand Valley Behavior (GVBSC) is seeking a part-time occupational therapist, with the potential to move to full-time. A strong candidate will have a passion for working with children, a love of learning, a strong work ethic, strong communication skills, and a desire to work collaboratively with other service providers to support children primarily ages 2 through 10, with the possibility of clients up to 21.
GVBSC is not part of a large corporation, which offers the right candidate the opportunity to customize the therapeutic experience for our clients in a supportive atmosphere. Services are provided in our center, private school, and home-based settings, which enhances the right candidates' ability to support our clients' success in multiple environments.
In the position of Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing clients, creating individualized treatment plans, providing direct therapy, conducting collaborative and consultative services for caregivers and other professionals.
You should have a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and hold a current/valid license in the State of Colorado. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively communicate with clients, caregivers and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Essential Duties:
- Performs intervention activities for children 1 to 21 in center, private school, home, or other community environments.
- Complete progress notes, update plans of care, and update goals at 6 month and annual reviews
- Collaborate with other service providers to create strategies based on client and family priorities that are measurable and meaningful.
- Effectively communicate strategies and techniques that are functional for the child’s and family’s life.
- Is culturally responsive and competent in working with a diverse population and range of communication delays/disorders
Requirements:
- Current state licensure;
- Degree from an accredited university;
- Takes pride in delivering the highest quality of care;
- Collaboration with BCBAs, SLPs, PTs, physicians, caregivers, educators, and other client team members to deliver consistency and excellence in therapy;
- Valid drivers’ license;
- Proof of motor vehicle insurance;
- Background Check and drug test;
- Fulfill GVBSC training requirements
- No major violations in the past three years.

We use ABA principles of behavior and behavior change tactics, chosen based on each child’s unique needs, to teach new skills/behaviors and to reduce challenging behaviors.

GVBSC emphasizes outdoor and naturalistic environment teaching, and partners with families, clients, and therapy teams across the Western Slope to support confident and capable children and caregivers.

Our Settings
We have 3 center-based locations, 2 in downtown Grand Junction and 1 in the Redlands. However, we provide services in multiple settings: home, community, and in our centers. GVBSC prioritizes outdoor learning and recognizes the value added to our clients' learning when we do not restrict their ability to learn in nature. Our center settings are designed to support both individual and social skills and to enhance development across developmental domains (communication, cognitive, social, emotional, motor, and adaptive).
