Job Description - Personal Lines Account Manager

Our client, a small-town insurance agency with a strong emphasis on work-life balance and a family-oriented atmosphere, is seeking a Personal Lines Account Manager. They offer a range of benefits, including employer-paid medical insurance, a Simple IRA with a 3% match, a Costco membership, and paid community volunteer hours. This position offers the opportunity to independently manage a personal lines book of business while being part of a supportive team in a flexible work environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in personal lines insurance, particularly with carriers like Safeco, Progressive, and Travelers. The role can accommodate either a service-only focus or a combination of service and sales, depending on the candidate’s strengths. While no outbound marketing or prospecting is required, the position demands a commitment to high-quality service and a retention rate of at least 90%. For the right candidate, this role can be fully remote but is limited to residents of Oregon, with a preference for those near La Pine, OR.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a personal lines book of business independently, including:
    • Setting pre-renewal meetings and facilitating policy reviews.
    • Quoting new business and re-marketing accounts with carriers.
    • Processing certificates, endorsements, and binding coverages.
  • Handle policy changes and support the overall agency book of business.
  • Work with carriers such as Safeco, Progressive, and Travelers.
  • Maintain at least a 90% retention rate through excellent client service.
  • Share workload in servicing the agency's accounts without direct producer alignment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of personal lines experience in an independent agency.
  • Proficiency in managing accounts, including pre-renewal meetings, policy reviews, quoting, re-marketing, and processing policy updates.
  • Familiarity with AMS 360 system is preferred.
  • Flexible approach, with experience in either service-only or service-and-sales roles.
  • Must reside in Oregon, with a preference for candidates near La Pine, OR. Remote work is an option for the right candidate.
