JOB SUMMARY:
Given the hybrid nature of this role, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining a coordinated HIV outreach plan that supports the goals of Prevention Services across the Metro Atlanta area, including providing outreach services online. The role includes providing comprehensive Prevention navigation services such as HIV/STI testing, pre- and post-test counseling, condom education and distribution, and linkage to prevention and essential services for high-risk HIV-negative individuals and persons living with HIV. The position also facilitates rapid entry to HIV care at PIHC, in the field, and through self-testing, following a confidential, one-on-one counseling model averaging no more than 30 minutes per session. Additionally, this role fully supports the PIHC PrEP program by delivering PrEP/PEP education, linking clients to same-day services, and supporting retention and reengagement in PrEP care. Staff will follow Rapid Entry and Re-engagement protocols and track client progress for up to 90 days to confirm attendance at initial medical appointments. All services and linkages will be documented appropriately, including notification to local health departments for Partner Services. This position reports directly to the Prevention Program Manager and aligns with targeted objectives outlined in the Prevention program.

Prevention Navigators must have reliable transportation and the willingness to work in non-traditional settings during non-traditional hours in a sex positive, non-judgmental manner. Prevention Navigators must be able to transport outreach supplies to offsite testing locations.

• Experience working with culturally diverse populations
• Possess excellent communication skills (writing, spelling, listening and speaking)

• Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
• Ability to resolve problems and make decisions.
• Ability to respond to assigned task in a timely manner
• Utilizes good management techniques and time management.
• Ability to follow through with completion of assigned tasks.
• Experienced in coordinating and managing community events and outreach activities, with a strong background in event planning, logistics, and on-site execution.
• Proficient in using public health communication tools such as Canva and social media scheduling platforms to support outreach and engagement efforts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suites.
• Abides by all policies and procedures concerning personnel including conflict of interest policy as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Minimum Qualifications
• MINIMUM Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, in health communications, public relations, marketing, or related field
Experience:
• Over 3+ years of experience in event planning and coordination.
• At least 1 year of experience working in HIV prevention, PrEP services, or the broader field of public health; or
• Any equivalent combination of proven training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job.
