Job Description - Program Manager, Culture Change

Job description

About CDI

The Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) is a non-profit dedicated to equipping the next generation of Americans with the skills to communicate and collaborate across lines of difference. We work with U.S. colleges and universities by providing co-curricular programming for students, professional development for faculty and staff, and strategic guidance to leadership. Our goal is to foster constructive dialogue at every level of the institution and to create the conditions for lasting organizational change. CDI was co-founded by psychologist Jonathan Haidt, the bestselling author of The Righteous Mind and The Anxious Generation.

About the Role

CDI seeks a highly organized and service-oriented Program Manager to support CDI’s partnerships and initiatives. This full-time, remote role will work closely with CDI’s Culture Change team to streamline systems, coordinate logistics, and ensure the seamless execution of projects and campus partnerships.

The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of project coordination and content support—someone who can keep complex initiatives running smoothly while ensuring CDI’s materials reflect our high standards for clarity and design. This position is perfect for a strong communicator who values efficiency, organization, and mission-driven work. The Program Manager reports to the Director of Campus Culture Change.

Responsibilities

Systems and Process Management

  • Maintain Asana projects, task lists, and documentation to ensure visibility and accountability across teams.

  • Coordinate activities for complex projects involving campus stakeholders, keeping efforts organized, on schedule, and aligned with project goals.

  • Manage project communication, including drafting and responding to emails on behalf of CDI staff to ensure timely and professional correspondence.

  • Design and refine processes (e.g., interview workflows, documentation templates) to improve coordination, consistency, and efficiency across projects.

Content and Presentation Support

  • Tailor and format presentation slides and partner materials to align with school contexts and project needs.

  • Collaborate with CDI staff to refine and version content while maintaining consistency with organizational voice and style.

  • Prepare and package materials for workshops, proposals, and partner meetings.

  • Maintain organized, up-to-date files and records of all program content and materials.

Project Coordination and Scheduling

  • Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and schedule partner engagements.

  • Track decision making and action items and follow-up tasks.

Job requirements

About You

  • 3+ years of experience in program or project coordination, ideally within education, consulting, or nonprofit settings.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written communication and editing skills, with a good eye for design and visual clarity.

  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Suite, PowerPoint/Slides, and Asana; comfort learning new platforms quickly.

  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to CDI’s mission to strengthen civic culture through constructive dialogue.

Benefits

  • Compensation — $75,000-$85,000

  • A Mission-Driven Culture — we practice what we preach, so our work culture is characterized by intellectual humility, continuous improvement, and open-mindedness

  • Remote-First — CDI was founded as a remote-first organization, and we work hard to maintain a strong team culture across vast distances

  • Unlimited PTO — as well as 13 company holidays

  • Remote Work Support — up to $500 reimbursed for home office equipment (like desks, chairs, or webcams) and up to $50/month reimbursed for home internet or cell phone expenses

  • Other Benefits — employer-supported health, vision and dental plans, subsidized parental leave, 3% 401k match, short- and long-term disability insurance, life and AD&D insurance, $1,000 annual professional development budget
