Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly capable Programmer 5 - DAFS Applications Apex Development to join the team and take ownership of ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements to the Application Inventory System (AIS). This role ensures that the AIS remains functional and aligned with the broader Application Rationalization program, while the internal team focuses on updating ITBA to the Oracle APEX environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot Oracle APEX applications and user interfaces.
• Write, debug, and optimize Oracle PL/SQL code in support of application logic and backend functionality.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand application requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop test plans and perform unit testing to ensure application reliability and performance.
• Provide support for existing AIS features and assist in system enhancements as part of a continuous improvement model.
• Create documentation including system design, workflow diagrams, and user guides.
• Participate in problem resolution with cross-functional teams to address system issues or inefficiencies.
• Mentor junior team members when applicable and contribute to best practice recommendations.
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Participate in the coordination of team activities and project timelines, as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience designing and analyzing enterprise applications.
• Hands-on expertise with Oracle APEX development.
• Advanced proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to work with diverse technologies and integrate across systems.
• Skilled in gathering and interpreting business requirements for technical implementation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application issues efficiently.
• Experience presenting solutions and collaborating across technical and business teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or coordinating development efforts is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting public sector or government systems.
• Familiarity with application rationalization or large-scale application portfolios.
