Project Manager

smartdept. is searching for a Project Manager for a growth and transformation consultancy serving ecommerce, retail, and DTC brands. This is a fully remote, ongoing freelance contract opportunity.

You'll keep blended creative and growth teams organized and on schedule, working alongside a senior lead who owns the client relationship.

What You'll Do:

• Plan and manage timelines for creative, paid media, and web projects


• Coordinate work across designers, copywriters, editors, and marketers


• Run status check-ins and keep project tools up to date


• Track deliverables, approvals, and deadlines


• Flag risks, scope changes, and capacity issues early


• Keep feedback and files organized for the team

What You'll Need:

• Hands-on project management experience in a marketing, creative, or agency setting


• Experience with tools like Asana, Monday, Wrike, or similar


• Strong organization and follow-through


• Ability to juggle several projects and priorities at once


• Comfort using AI tools to work faster


• Clear, reliable communication and the confidence to push back diplomatically when needed

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Ecommerce or DTC brand experience


• Paid media or website launch projects


• Retainer or multi-client agency work


• Slack and Google Workspace
