QHSE Offshore Medical officer (US)
Department Description and Responsibilities
As an Offshore Medic, you will play a key role as part of the on-site team assigned to one of our offshore projects worldwide. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and controlling all medical practices onboard, ensuring they meet company and international standards. Your duties will include providing direct medical care to personnel, managing medical facilities and supplies, and conducting regular inspections of activities and equipment to verify their compliance with health and safety requirements. You will also ensure the proper implementation of medical procedures, support emergency response preparedness, and contribute to promoting a safe and healthy working environment for all offshore staff.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
Provide support to the project team for all QHSE/Medical-related matters.
Ensure that personnel use the latest versions of PQMP, PHSEMP, ITP, MST, RA, etc. - Project QHSE reporting, KPI and communications with Project management and the vessel.
Ensure proper documentation and filing of medical reports, statistics, and provide analysis and reports as required.
Oversee occupational health and hygiene issues, including health surveillance programs and monitoring of the working environment.
Monitor and maintain the operation of medical facilities, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment are available.
Provide medical care, including emergency and occupational health treatments, and maintain accurate reporting.
Assist with emergency drills and training exercises, evaluating preparedness and identifying areas for improvement.
Participating in meetings and toolboxes onboard and on site.
Investigation of incidents & Non-Conformities.
Engage the supervisors and workforce to actively participate in HSE matters and campaigns.
Carry out HSE/Medical inspections onboard/onsite and ensure proper reporting, communication and follow-up of the findings.
Management Observation Cards on board and on site.
Technical profile requirements
5 years’ experience as Offshore Medic in high-risk industries.
Good knowledge & experience with MS Office.
Experience with Offshore Wind operations is a plus.
Willingness to travel abroad on 4:4 or 5:5 rotation.
Fit for Offshore work.
Job-specific certification requirements
HSE Offshore Medic (or similar).
Licensed Medic.
NEBOSH IDIP/Certificate or similar (through experience) is a plus.
GWO Basic Safety (or BOSIET with additional GWO Modules).
GWO Enhanced First Aid & Advanced Rescue Training is a plus.
